Making the Shared Value of Generosity Real

Generosity is one of our Unitarian Universalist shared values. This beautiful value, centered in love calls to us.

This is a trying and confusing time in history, one that could defy our ability to be generous to those around us in our personal, family, and professional lives as well as in our congregations. What sustains and encourages us in our spiritual grounding as UUs, pertaining to generosity? How can we draw on our diverse sources to inform our beliefs? How do we think about the culture of our congregations? How might they promote more generosity? What actions can we take – so that generosity grows and shines brightly in our selves and our congregations?

So many questions! We created a workshop for UUA General Assembly 2025 to address these topics. We, Mark Ewert and Rachel Maxwell of Stewardship for Us, and our guests, Rev. Tandi Rogers, Aisha Hauser and Rev. Allison Palm in explore our UU shared value of Generosity, what it means to us today, and how it could impact your stewardship practices in this video of our GA Workshop available on UUA’s LeaderLab:

LeaderLab is a wonderful online resource, where you can search by topic to take courses, read blog posts, and stream videos to help you with being an effective congregational leader. Check it out!

Also, we will be hosting a Wave Cohort starting this Fall titled, Increasing Financial Resilience for UU Congregations. Read more about it here. Please  register and join us!
