New Webinar on Donor Advised Funds: The Giving Tool Every Congregation Should Know About

Since the late 1980s, Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) have exploded on the philanthropy landscape. They have rapidly grown to hold billions of dollars in assets, and grants from them have also increased in double-digit percentage amounts. Yet they are NOT just for the financial elite; they are accessible to almost any giver – you do not have to be rich to use a Donor Advised Fund. In fact, some of your members probably already have a DAF. Still, DAF requirements may lead your members to think they cannot use them to make grants to your congregation (not true!). Do you know enough about them to know how to treat those donations? Do you know about how they should not be acknowledged? Do you know enough to ask for grants from them – skillfully?

This webinar will give you the basics about DAFs, will talk about the benefits they create for the donor members, and benefits for your congregation if you are a charitable recipient. If we are not asking for DAF grants, then we are missing out on a huge trend in giving.  The webinar is appropriate for stewardship leaders, finance folks, and administrators as well. External resources and links will be provided.

As is our custom, sign-ups will be limited to a maximum of 20 computers to ensure everyone has the opportunity to offer comments and ask questions. However, feel free to gather members of your team around a computer to participate together. A modest fee of $25 is charged for each computer log-in for the webinar. Two times are offered, one on December 6th, in the evening East Coast time (although all are welcome!) and one as a brown bag lunch time on December 7th for the West Coast (all are welcome!). The two webinars are identical – this is not a series.
